Share/Stock Market Live Updates: The benchmark equity indices on BSE and National Stock Exchange (NSE) extended their losses and were trading over 1.7 per cent lower during the late morning deals on Friday tracking a sell-off in their global peers which crashed as the escalating Ukraine crisis sent oil prices surging and stoked inflation fears.
At 11:32 am, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 962.80 points (1.75 per cent) at 54,139.88 while the Nifty 50 was at 16,203.40, down 294.65 points (1.79 per cent). Both the indices had opened over 1 per cent lower and skid further as the trade progressed. So far, the Sensex has hit an intraday low of 53,887.72 while the broader Nifty has plunged to 16,133.80.
On the Sensex pack, Asian Paints, HUL, Maruti Suzuki, Titan, M&M, Axis Bank and Bajaj Finance were the top losers in the late morning trade, all trading over 3 per cent lower while ITC, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma and HCL Tech were the gainers.
