Mumbai News: Almost nine months after the Supreme Court scrapped the Maratha quota, the Maharashtra government on Friday has taken the decision to set up an independent and dedicated backward class commission to study the backwardness of the Maratha community. The decision was taken at a meeting of the cabinet sub-committee of the Maratha Reservation held by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
In another development, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) will submit a 22-page detailed note against Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari pointing out ‘governance failure’ and ‘breakdown of law and order’ in the state.
